The Marriage Tree – on Wassaw Island, Georgia – was so-named by the family who have vacationed there since the late-nineteenth century. It consists of a Bay and a Palm fused at their roots. It's difficult to discern the individual attributes of each trunk, so entangled are they; but above, the Bay is fully a Bay, the Palm fully a Palm. The Bay is dense and wide while the spare Palm thrusts straight up and through. Read my Notes for the piece.
